Right in the middle of Värmland, where the landscape is full of contrasts, you encounter Sunne – Marvelous Sunne. This is a place where you can find peace instead of stress and rushing. Consideration instead of self-interest. Accessibility instead of queues. Time to listen, think and be heard. All those things that used to exist but are now seemingly forgotten. We believe that this is a modern way of living. Sunne is also home to a rare innovative and driving force, which makes it one of the most enterprising places in all of Sweden.

Culture and the tradition of storytelling are strong in Sunne. It is where the author and Nobel laureate Selma Lagerlöf lived and worked. Her legacy is still vivid today. “If I have achieved nothing else in my life, I will at least have attracted tourists to Värmland”. Selma Lagerlöf wrote this in her will and testament, in which she instructed that Mårbacka should be kept as a memorial estate and be shown to the public as it was when she passed away.
